Prozessingenieur Fertigung (m/w/d)
in the team at:
As a Manufacturing Process Engineer (m/f/d), you will systematically analyze and optimize manufacturing processes. You will evaluate components based on technical drawings, including tolerances, oversee pilot orders, and holistically optimize processes in terms of quality, time, and cost. In addition, you will oversee the development of new components and the transition from pre-production and pilot runs to full-scale production, including manufacturing strategy, clamping and tooling concepts, and stable process parameters.
Ideal for practitioners with a background in metalworking/technicians or engineers with a mechanical engineering background who have a strong command of CNC, machining, and continuous process improvement.
Your tasks:
- You will support the manufacturing department in identifying and resolving production issues—from analysis through to the implementation of effective measures.
- You will conduct manufacturing assessments of components based on technical drawings, including tolerances, surfaces, and reference structures, in close collaboration with the design department.
- You will manage trial orders in a structured manner, evaluate manufacturability, and derive optimization measures for the production process from these findings.
- You will analyze and improve manufacturing processes holistically with regard to quality, time, and costs; this includes root cause analysis, implementation of measures, and effectiveness testing.
- You will create and further develop process-related documentation (e.g., work instructions, process parameters) to ensure that standards are clear, applicable, and audit-ready.
- The introduction of new components during the development stage, including the definition of manufacturing strategies, clamping/tooling concepts, and process flows, also falls within your scope of responsibilities.
- You oversee the transition of pre-production and pilot series to series production, define process parameters, and stabilize the production process until series production is approved.
Your profile:
- You have successfully completed an apprenticeship in a metalworking trade (e.g., toolmaker, precision mechanic, machinist, or industrial mechanic) and have either completed further training to become a technician or hold a degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable qualification.
- You have already gained extensive experience in process analysis and optimization, particularly with regard to scrap, setup times, cycle times, and quality.
- You are able to read and evaluate technical drawings, including form and position tolerances.
- The technical evaluation of components and the development of manufacturing concepts come naturally to you, as does structured problem-solving in manufacturing (root cause analysis, corrective actions).
- You have experience with CNC controls and programming; you also possess a basic understanding of measurement and inspection processes as well as quality requirements in machining.
- Very good German and good English skills for collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders round out your profile.
