Mitarbeiter Patentwesen (m/w/d)

As a specialist in patent law, you will be responsible for handling property rights applications, supporting product development and keeping an eye on the competitive environment with the help of modern tools. With your technical understanding and expertise in patent law, you will help to secure innovative solutions. At the same time, you will benefit from a dynamic team with flat hierarchies and short decision-making processes.

•    You will play an active role in developing and implementing our patent strategy.
•    You will support product development in avoiding infringements of property rights, evaluate inventions and define protectable features for patent and design applications.
•    You will ensure freedom to operate by conducting prior art searches and evaluating the results on a technical basis.
•    You will continuously monitor the international patent and competitive environment using modern search tools.
•    You will independently handle national, European and international property rights applications and litigation, working closely with external patent attorneys.

• You have a degree in a scientific field and have already gained some professional experience in patent law.
• You are well versed in patent research, particularly with commercial databases (e.g. IP7 Compass), and are experienced in drafting documents for applications and inventor disclosures.
• Knowledge of the laboratory environment in the life sciences sector is an advantage.
• You are able to identify complex technical issues and present them accurately.
• You have excellent communication and teamwork skills and a structured, careful and goal-oriented approach to your work.
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills round off your profile.
